For bathrooms with a tub-shower combination, a shower curtain or set of glass doors is the usual divider. While both are options, it is important to find the right one for your dream bathroom. There are pros and cons to each one, but the best deciding factor is what you want to see in your new bathroom.
Shower curtains are less expensive, but less elegant option. While shower curtains can be more easily changed if you want a new look, unfortunately they can get moldy or ripped and require a replacement. With curtains, you should have a curtain rod installed, as collapsible rods are generally not as high quality and are prone to falling on occasion or with little pressure. When choosing shower curtains, look for ones that are PVC- and VOC-free, especially if you have small children. Shower curtains have the most options for designs and colors.

Glass doors require proper installment, but usually last for years without issue. While soap and hard water can make the glass look dirty, this can be cleaned off with cleaners. It is suggested to squeegee the glass doors after each use to prevent buildup of soap scum and hard water. Glass doors are much sturdier than curtains, and some design styles come with handles for support, hanging washcloths or towels, and of course, opening and closing them. Glass doors range colors by staining the glass. Frosted or semi-transparent pictures allow for more privacy and/or intricate designs. The glass can be a clear pane or opaque depending on your preferences.
